By moving our math classes to the library, Chandra and Emma were able to provide authentic contexts for the mathematics curriculum, and help our students apply math to solve real-world problems. We will share our experiences with using stories, news, and other media to bring to math to life, and to embed research and information literacy skills into math classes.
Outcomes: This session will provide useful strategies for teachers and teacher-librarians wanting to collaborate more effectively.
